PARKERS CROSSROADS BATTLE ANNIVERSARY WALK

T
he Parkers Crossroads Battlefield Association would like to invite the public to
join us for a walk on the 149th anniversary of the battle at Parkers Crossroads.
Guests are asked to meet Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Tour
Stop 7.  Historian Steve McDaniel will host the walk as visitors carpool to the
site the Confederate artillery first engaged Federals at Hicks Field (Tour Stop 2).
The walk will retrace the route taken by troops as they approach the Crossroads,
ending at the Federal’s last line of defense – the rail fence. Please dress appropriately
for a 3-3 ½ mile walk. Should weather be inclement, Mr. McDaniel will speak of
the battle at the Visitor Center located in Parkers Crossroads at 20945 Hwy 22
