James Walter Hervey, M.D.
Fiftieth Indiana Infantry Surgeon

Appointed by the Governor of Indiana as first Assistant Surgeon
of the Fiftieth Indiana Volunteer Infantry. Dr. Hervey remained
with the regiment, until he was disabled at the Battle of Parker's
Cross Roads. He returned home in February of 1863.
