The Parker's Crossroads Battlefield Association was formed in 1993 by those  interested in preserving the Civil War history of Henderson County, Tennessee. The primary focus of the organization is the preservation and interpretation of the
Parker's Crossroads battlefield.  It was at this site, on December 31, 1862, the forces commanded by Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest were confronted two Union brigades commanded by
General Jeremiah C. Sullivan.

Our accomplishments have been many through the dedication of our members and with the encouragement and help of the Parker's Crossroads community. With community support, May 13, 1995 saw the dedication of a self-guided driving tour, designed to provide a complete view of the Parker's Crossroads Battlefield, with stops at important points of interest.

The PCBA, continuing in their efforts to preserve the battlefield, have seen many preservation victories. The victories now total just over 294 acres of preserved land!

March 2001 ~ 56.08 acres
January 2002 ~ 24 acres
March 2003 ~ 77 acres
November 2004 ~ 9 acres
November 2005 ~ 40 acres
December 2007 ~ 87.96 acres

294+ acres total

With core battlefield preserved, the Parker's Crossroads National Battlefield Park was established.  Dedicated in June 2006, visitors to the park can now enjoy 2 miles of paved walking trails with interpretive signs installed along the trail system. Visitors have the opportunity for a complete overview and understanding of the battle fought at Parkers Crossroads. The PCBA continues to seek funding to preserve additional acres of core battlefield.
